Fashion Police

The Owl's Style

Fashion Police

Here are some fashion no-no's we've seen around town. Comment on the poll on the right to find out which one our follower think was the worst:

1. Double Patterns:
Leopard and stripes? NO WAY!! Doing double patterns is dreadful. Unless it's dots & stripes, stay away from bi-patterned.

2. Gray:
When you think of gray, you think of BOOORIIING!!!!!! You are right! Gray and Gray is torture, but if you pair it with a bold color (e.g. gray shirt and red skinnies), it's okay.

3. Super-low-cut jeans:
Showing your booty is sooo last...eon! Never cool, even if it's your boyfriend. He should like you for your heart.

4. Little-kid clothes:
Um... drop those pink overalls! You wanna look your age (or a little older!). They may look good on your 5-year-old sis, but not on you.

Shoe Show!

The Owl's Style
By Flora

What is my favorite part about outfits? The shoes! Shoes can show your personality, favorite color, style, and more! I recently got a pair of Turquoise, T-bar wedges. This shows my favorite color, and that I am stylish and funky. Here they are:

Dresses That Impress

The Owl's Style
By Flora

Hi! I am a big fan of cute dresses. One of my favorite places to get dresses is Vintage Thrift Shops. There is a local Vintage shop on Franklin St. in Chapel Hill. They sell the cutest dresses- and they're cheap! Here is one I got for the next school dance:

Dress: Vintage
Shoes: Christian Siriano

But Vintage is just one dress idea! Here are some other really cute dresses:

Purple and Black are a great combo! Add hot pink nails to go diva! And, uh Yes, I know I need an attitude adjustment! Sheesh!

Spring!!

The Owl's Style

Spring is almost here!! Here are some good outfit ideas:

#1.
You will need a plain, one-colored shirt, preferably fitted. You will also need a cut-up shirt, like one with ties in the back or sides. It should be shorter and have a bright or colorful design on the front. Add your favorite skirt or jeans, depending how cold it is. This is cute, no matter what!

#2.
A bold blouse looks good over a neon dress. Especially with a leather jacket (they go awesome with everything)! Perfect for everyday or special occasions.

Cute School Outfits

The Owl's Style
By Flora

Hey peeps! This is Flora!! Here are some great ideas for school outfits.

1. You'll need Capri's, A fitted, bright t-shirt, and flats. This is great for any day, especially warm days.

2. Wear a summer dress over a one-colored shirt without buttons or any details. Add simple tights and tall boots. This is a great outfit for cold days. (p.s, it looks really nice with a supermodel jacket.)

Sparkles!!

SPARKLES!!!!
By Chelsea

As all of you fashionistas should already know, sparkles are in! January especially accentuates that, with the snow on the streets and the frost on the windowpanes creating a pretty sparkly effect. Here are some example outfits for all of you readers out there!

Subtle Yet Smexy:
As seen below, this outfit is a perfect eye-catcher for any occasion. A silver, sparkly, ruffle shirt tucked into a custom made, cream eyelet skirt and topped off with just the right amount of sparkles from the silver sequined scarf. It highlights your curves and has gotten me many compliments!

Shirt: Gap
Scarf: Dillard's
Skirt: Custom Made

Dance The Night Away...
This dress combo is great for showing off at dances or fancy occasions or for whenever you feel like it! This sparkly, ruffle, black v-neck dress paired with a simple, black, tie in front cardigan with sequined ballet flats looks good on anybody, and you can mix and match it with anything to produce an awesome, fantabulous result!!!
